The method involves providing a planar structure of a data carrier card, and bending the planar structure in an arc to form an arcuate structure. A cutting surface is moved in a direction that is perpendicular to the planar structure before bending the planar structure. The cutting surface is brought in contact with the arcuate structure, and the arcuate structure is cut, where the arcuate structure is allowed to return to the planar orientation after cutting, and the data carrier card is a laminated structure made of two sheets of material (a, b) to form the planar structure. An independent claim is also included for a data carrier card.
