PURPOSE: Oxynitride-based phosphors are provided to have excellent structure stability and excellent luminance in red, and to have a new crystal structure for improving luminance. CONSTITUTION: Oxynitride-based phosphors containCa, Ba, Si, O, and N as elements for a base body and is that rare earth elements are solved with a solid phase, in the base body. The rare earth element is one or more selected from Mn, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Tb, Ho, Er, Tm, and Yb. The base body has a monoclinic system with a crystal lattice of a = 7.076, b = 23.888, c = 4.827,α=γ= 90°, andβ= 109.110°. The change of each a, b, c,α, andβis 5% or less.
