The device (9) has protection devices (12) e.g. airbags, for protecting occupants of a vehicle (10). A traction battery (14) supplies power to an electric machine (16) for realizing electrical traction of the vehicle. A monitoring system (18) monitors the battery. An inertial sensor (20) i.e. accelerometer, provides information relative to movement of the vehicle. The inertial sensor is supplied with power by an energy storage source i.e. cell, regardless of a life situation e.g. rolling situation, stopping situation and recharging situation, of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for managing collision of a car. |
