PURPOSE: A touch input device in a user terminal and a method thereof are provided to offer convenience to a user by easily converting a mode without pushing a button. CONSTITUTION: A touch input unit(12) generates a touch input event according to a user touch. A single or multi-touch input determination unit(22) enters into a drawing mode according to the touch input event, determines a single-touch input and multi touch inputs. When the single-touch input is existed, a touch point sampling unit(26) provides a sample point for drawing and executes a touch point sampling according to single touch movement. When the multi-touch input is existed, a multi-touch processing unit(27) executes multi-touch operation according to multi-touch movement.
