Disclosed are a method and a device for hot-plugging a node, which relate to the technical field of hot-plugging, simplify the operational procedure of hot-adding a node, and improve the efficiency of operations in hot-adding procedures. The present invention comprises: a server acquiring the static hardware information of a node device to be added from a base board management controller BMC of the node device to be added, and storing the information in a storage of the server, the static hardware information being obtained by the BMC of the node device to be added via an out-band channel; the server receives a command sent by a user for hot-adding of the node, which command carries identifying information of the node device to be added; the static hardware information of the node device to be added corresponding to the identifying information is acquired from the storage; and the node device to be added is added according to the static hardware information. The embodiments of the present invention are mainly used in the process of hot-adding a node.
