<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce causes of jamming and errors in a conveyor path or the like on and after feeding. <P>SOLUTION: A medium separating/feeding mechanism includes a lateral face guide 10 where a medium is accumulated therein, pickup rollers 2a-2d for feeding the medium accumulated in the lateral face guide, a gate disposed downstream of the pickup rollers, composed of separating feed rollers 4a and 4b and separating gate rollers 5a and 5b which separate and feed the medium fed by the pickup rollers, and has recesses and projections on an outer peripheral surface to form an overlap point 31, and feeding feed rollers 3a-3C and feeding rollers 6a-6c for holding the medium separated by the gate at a connection point 14a and feeding it. When the medium reaches the gate, a skew angle of the medium is set to be smaller than a limiting angle θmax at which a skew increases so as to prevent the medium from rotating in a direction increasing the skew angle at an overlap point due to the medium reaching the overlap point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
