摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of the degradation of self ignitability and reduce heat loss due to combustion heat being released from a cylinder wall surface, when reforming fuel so as to increase combustion energy. <P>SOLUTION: A combustion system has a reformer reforming the nature of the fuel on a catalyst such that the combustion energy output from the fuel of a unit quantity is increased even while causing the lowering of a combustion temperature and the degradation of the self ignitability, reformed fuel is distributed in an annular shape (refer to meshed hatch in Fig.4(c)) along the cylinder inner peripheral surface 10a of the internal combustion engine and non-reformed fuel is distributed in a center part of the annular shape (refer to an oblique line hatch in Fig.4(c)) when the reformed fuel reformed in the reformer and the non-reformed fuel not reformed are simultaneously combusted in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. Further, the non-reformed fuel is compressed and self-ignited and the reformed fuel is ignited and combusted using the self-ignition combustion as a flash point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
