The invention relates to a gear shaft assembly, having a shaft which has a cylindrical lateral surface on which an external gear is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner surrounding the shaft and which coaxially at one end has a torque transmission part. The shaft is a hollow shaft consisting of a higher-strength material, wherein the external gear consists of a plastic and is sprayed onto the cylindrical lateral surface of the hollow shaft, and wherein the torque transmission part is a separate component which consists of a higher-strength material and is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the hollow shaft.
