SPIRAL TYPE FLUID SEPARATION ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral type fluid separation element which produces no crack at a stuck interface part between a liquid collecting pipe and an adhesive applied thereto even at high pressure operation for seawater desalination treatment or the like and thereby which can prevent performance deterioration in the element due to sealing leakage.

SOLUTION: A membrane unit comprising a separation membrane, a permeate flow passage material and a raw liquid flow passage material is wound around an outer circumference of the liquid collecting pipe having a liquid collecting hole so that the separation membrane may be adhered to the liquid collecting pipe by the adhesive to form the spiral type fluid separation element. The spiral type fluid separation element is characterized in that at least a part of the outer circumference of the liquid collecting pipe is polished with an abrasive of grit size between #600 and #2000 stipulated by JIS R6001 precipitation test method.
