<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system capable of supporting a hollow shaft so as to be movable relative to a rack housing in an axial direction and suppressing backlash of the hollow shaft. <P>SOLUTION: The electric power steering system includes: elastic members 34, which are arranged respectively at axial both ends of a first bearing 18 that rotatably supports a motor shaft 16 serving as a hollow shaft and which elastically support the first bearing 18 relative to a rack housing 5 in the axial direction; and a support member 41, which is disposed on the outer periphery of the first bearing 18 to support the first bearing 18 with displacement in the radial direction restricted. Then, the first bearing 18 slides relative to the support member 41 while elastically deforming the elastic members 34 and a second bearing moves in the axial direction, and thereby, the motor shaft 16 is disposed so as to move relative to the rack housing 5 in the axial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
