<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a temperature of a reformed fuel from being lowered, concerning a combustion system for combusting the reformed fuel in a combustion chamber in an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The combustion system has a reformer 40 having a catalyst for reforming the nature of the fuel, the reformed fuel reformed by the reformer 40 is injected into an exhaust port 22 (exhaust channel) of the internal combustion engine, the reformed fuel injected into the exhaust port 22 flows into the combustion chamber 12 from an exhaust port 22a opened and closed by an exhaust valve 32. Consequently, a circulation channel (piping 45 after reforming) to the exhaust port 22a of the reformed fuel is located in the vicinity of an exhaust pipe in which an atmospheric temperature is high. Thereby, it is possible to suppress the reformed fuel from being cooled in the piping 45 after reforming. Further, it is possible to avoid the reformed fuel from being cooled by new air because the reformed fuel is not mixed with the new air until it flows into the combustion chamber 12. Thus, it is possible to suppress the reformed fuel from being cooled and to reduce concern of deterioration of ignitability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
