METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR WORD SENSE DISAMBIGUATION, AND SYSTEM FOR SIGN LANGUAGE TRANSLATION USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method for resolving the ambiguity of words, a system thereof, and a sign language system using the same are provided to resolve the ambiguity of words by assuming an ambiguous word with a high ambiguity resolution probability and an ambiguous word with a high correlation and determining the meaning of the ambiguous words. CONSTITUTION: An ambiguous word extracting unit(200) extracts ambiguous words from an input sentence and a probability distribution calculating unit(300) calculates probability distribution according to the meaning of the ambiguous words. A meaning determining unit(500) determines meanings of first and second ambiguous words by using the meaning probability distribution of the ambiguous words, the meaning probability distribution of remaining ambiguous words, and the meaning probability distribution of the ambiguous words in an state assuming the meaning of an ambiguous word having the highest correlation.
