An adjustable lamp reflector 100 having closed-ends preventing loss of light has a resilient sheet of material 102 which has a reflective surface (104, fig 2). Opposite ends of sheet 102 are connected to supports 106. Each support 106 has a curved edge 108 which is joined to sheet 102, causing sheet 102 to be biased into a correspondingly curved shape. Supports 106 provide the closed ends of reflector 100. Each support 106 comprises two pieces 116,118 which are moveable with respect to each other, for example, by a pivot 120 passing through holes 122,124 adjacent curved edge 108. The end pieces 116,118 can be adjusted between a closed position, in which curved edge 108 is approximately parabolic, and a open position, in which curved edge 108 is approximately a double parabolic shape.
