PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material is provided to have a similar crystal structure and to improve structural stability, thereby improving lifetime performance and capacity performance of a lithium battery. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material comprises a lamellar material with a composition of xLi_2MO_3-(1-x)LiMeO_2; and a metal oxide with a perovskite structure. In the chemical formula, x is 0 < x < 1; each of M and Me is respectively metal ion. The lamellar structure material and metal oxide forms a composite. The amount of metal oxide in the lamellar structure is 0.01-0.1 mol%. A positive electrode comprises the positive electrode active material which is formed on one side of a current collector.
