PURPOSE: An apparatus for concentrating sludge is provided to install a screen member having multiple through-holes inside a sludge bowl in which sludge flows in order to pass water contained in the sludge through the through-holes, thereby remarkably reducing the power loss of a motor which transmits power to a rotary screw, and reducing noise. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for concentrating sludge includes a sludge bowl(110) for feeding sludge, a rotary screw(120), a screen member(130), an actuating unit(150), and a power transmitting unit. The screen member inside the sludge bowl has a hollow(S) for covering the rotary screw. Multiple through-holes(1310) are formed on the outer periphery of the screen member, and the through-hole has a certain size for passing a filtrate from the sludge and blocking the sludge. A blow pipe(170) is longitudinally installed at the upper side of the screen member, and has multiple jet nozzles for jetting compressed air towards the screen member in order to prevent the sludge from being trapped in the through-holes. A cutting groove cut in the direction of the blow pipe is formed on the upper outer periphery of the sludge bowl so that the compressed air from the jet nozzles can reach the screen member. The screen member reversely rotates against the rotation of the rotary screw. |
