MULTIPLE BIOMETRICS APPARATUS AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: Multiple biometric recognition devices and a method thereof are provided to obtain a face image and an iris image by using one camera, thereby simplifying a structure of a biometric recognition device. CONSTITUTION: A lamp unit(120) illuminates a multiband lamp which includes visible light and infrared rays. A camera unit(110) generates a visible light image and an infrared ray image by sensing the visible light and the infrared rays and photographing a recognition object. A face detection unit(130) detects a face from the visible light image and the infrared ray image. The face detection unit detects an eye position from a face area. The face detection unit generates a visible light face image and an infrared ray face image based on the face area and the eye position. An iris detection unit(150) generates an iris image by extracting an area corresponding to an iris from the infrared ray face image based on the eye position.
