<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a pan temperature in a wide temperature range with high accuracy and in a stable, highly responsive and non-contact manner. <P>SOLUTION: An induction heating cooker comprises: a top plate on which a pan is placed; a heating coil arranged under the top plate; a light guide tube provided on a component for fixing the heating coil, and guiding infrared radiation from the pan; infrared detection means detecting infrared having passed through the light guide tube; first DC amplifier means DC amplifying an output from the infrared detection means; and a second DC amplifier means DC amplifying an output from the first DC amplifier means.
