Provided is a refrigeration unit that is capable of preventing poor lubrication when there is little oil in a compressor while optimizing an amount of oil that returns. The refrigeration unit is configured in such a manner that: the opening of motor-operated valves (30) disposed on oil return tubes (28A) is adjusted in response to the operating frequency of compressors (11, 11); and the operation of one of the compressors (11) is stopped when the oil level in a case (12) of the compressor (11) remains below a lower limit level while the compressors (11, 11) are operating, and the operation of the compressor (11) is restarted when the oil level exceeds a prescribed level.
