<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions and tires enhancing cut growth resistance (crack growth resistance), tear resistance and puncture resistance for a sidewall, as for off-the-road tires intended for use under heavy loaded conditions, at least very large off-the-road tires for agricultural tire and industrial tire applications. <P>SOLUTION: An outer sidewall rubber layer is a rubber composition comprised of (A) 100 phr of rubber comprised of cis 1,4-polyisoprene natural rubber and cis 1,4-polybutadiene rubber, (B) reinforcing filler comprised of 20 to 40 phr of carbon black and 20 to 40 phr of precipitated silica, (C) a coupling agent having a moiety reactive with hydroxyl groups on the precipitated silica and another different moiety interactive with elastomers, and (D) 1 to 2 phr of a sulfur cure system comprised of sulfur and benzothiazole sulfenamide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
