<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a system, a printer driver, and a method for reducing printing failure such as printing blur or vanishing (transfer failure) of character and symbols when a non-genuine product is used for replacing a component of an image forming apparatus so as to suppress wasteful use of recording paper and toner, and providing a method for improving print quality. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: an image forming unit 103 that forms an image; and a non-genuine product determination unit 101a that determines whether or not a toner cartridge 108a that is a replacement component of the image forming unit 103 is a non-genuine product. When the non-genuine product determination unit 101a determines that a replacement component of the image forming unit is a non-genuine product, a control unit 101 prohibits a user to change a toner density adjustment value, and sets a toner density adjustment value to a predetermined default value, for example, the toner density adjustment value at the factory shipment before printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
