<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for promptly starting rotation of a drum at a conveyance start of a recording medium to reduce a period of time of poor following performance of the rotation of the drum with respect to conveyance of the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes: a conveying part for conveying the recording medium; the drum for rotating under force of friction against the recording medium conveyed by the conveying part, the recording medium being wound around the drum; and a recording part for recording an image onto a part which is wound around the drum of the recording medium conveyed by the conveying part. The conveying part starts the conveyance of the recording medium while a first tension is applied to the recording medium, and meanwhile executes a switching operation for switching the tension applied to the recording medium after the conveyance of the recording medium has been started, to a second tension that is lower than the first tension. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
