<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which a position of a test pattern can be accurately decided even though a diameter of light is longer than a line width. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus reading the test pattern of a plurality of lines formed in a recording medium 150 and adjusting a discharge timing of liquid droplets has a reading means 30 having a light emitting means irradiating light to the recording medium and a light receiving means receiving reflected light from the recording medium, a pattern data storing means 618 storing the pattern data of the test pattern, a test pattern printing means reading out the pattern data and forming the test pattern in the recording medium, an intensity data storing means 525 storing the intensity data of the reflected light which the light receiving means receives from a scanning position of the light while the light moves on the test pattern, and a position detecting means 616 deciding the scanning position of a changing ratio data on which attention is focused at the center position of the lines in the case the arrangement of the plurality of changing ratio data before and behind the changing ratio data on which attention is focused is generally point symmetry. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
