<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a plate-like grid into a peripheral surface shape and make distances from an image carrier even. <P>SOLUTION: A charger 2 for charging the outer peripheral surface of an image carrier 1 comprises: a charging wire 21 to which voltage is applied during charging; a housing 22 housing and holding the charging wire; a long plate-like grid 23 with a mesh structure formed therein; contact bodies 24 and 25 that come into contact with the plate-like grid from its rear side and curve it so as to correspond with the outer peripheral surface of the image carrier; and a plurality of adjustment mechanisms 26 connected to a plurality of areas along the edge of one end of the plate-like grid and individually apply tensile force. The adjustment mechanisms includes: an adjustment member 261 connected to the edge of the one end of the plate-like grid via an elastic body 266 that generates tensile force; a first adjustment support part 263 supporting the adjustment member 261 such that the member is movable in the direction in which it comes into contact with or separates from the edge of the one end of the plate-like grid; and a fixing part 265 that fixes the adjustment member to the adjustment support part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
