PURPOSE: A smart grid device security certification system and a method thereof are provided to improve security of certificates. CONSTITUTION: A device manager(10) requests an issue of certificates about multiple smart grid devices and injects multiple certificates into multiple smart grid devices. A certification center(20) issues multiple certificates in response to the request of the device manager and verifies and answers effectiveness. A security server(30) requests the verification of the effectiveness about multiple certificates from the certification center and limits a service which is provided to the smart grid device which responds to the answer about the effectiveness verification.
