PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition that selectively includes thiazolidinedione analogs for use in treating metabolic inflammation mediated diseases.

SOLUTION: The invention relates to insulin sensitizers that have reduced binding and activation of the nuclear transcription factor PPARγ. The insulin sensitizers have reduced binding and activation of the nuclear transcription factor PPARγ and therefore produce reduced sodium re-absorption and fewer dose-limiting side effects.
