The apparatus (201) has a static vaporizer (105) and a dynamic vaporizer (107) for cooling a cooling tray (103) e.g. cooler tray and freezer tray, by natural convection and forced convection, respectively. A bypass line (108) for refrigerant is provided for bypassing the dynamic vaporizer and for introduction of the refrigerant into the static vaporizer. A controllable rerouting device (109) reroutes the refrigerant flow from the dynamic vaporizer into the bypass line and provided with a magnetic valve. The static vaporizer is designed as a wrap-around vaporizer or a plate vaporizer.
