Use of a microencapsulated food substrate for breeding of predatory arachnids, is claimed. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a composition for breeding of predatory arachnids, comprises the above microencapsulated food substrate and at least one auxiliary; (2) breeding predatory arachnids, comprising providing the microencapsulated food substrate in a breeding preparation, placing the breeding preparation with individuals or eggs of the predatory arachnids, and growing the predatory arachnids under appropriate culture conditions; and (3) a preparation for biological pest control, comprising the microencapsulated food substrate and predatory arachnids, preferably predatory mites.
