PURPOSE: A driving device for a liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve reliability by preventing a heating phenomenon or an abnormal operation of a driving integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION: A data driver(4) drives data lines of a liquid crystal panel and compensates a common voltage level on the liquid crystal panel. A gate driver(6) drives gate lines of the liquid crystal panel. A timing controller(8) controls a defective display pattern by analyzing image data, outputs a driving voltage supply enable signal according to the defective display pattern detection result, and controls the gate driver and the data driver. A driving voltage generating unit(10) generates a plurality of driving voltages for driving the liquid crystal panel, the gate driver, and the data driver.
