The present invention provides a pool capacity monitoring technology capable of properly predicting the timing for the depletion of pool capacity even if there is a change in an external environment such as the addition of a new application or a characteristic change in an existing application and so forth. According to the present invention, in order to predict the timing for the depletion of pool capacity, every time there is a change in the external environment such as the addition of an application, the amount of consumption for each media constituting the pool is predicted, and the prediction of the time the capacity will be depleted is recalculated. Further, a prediction value for an I/O consumption trend for each application using virtual volumes is calculated for each media from a past consumption trend stored in a storage. |
