PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network connection apparatus loaded with various functions and a network connection method capable of achieving optimum network connection corresponding to a function to be used for a user.

SOLUTION: The network connection apparatus includes: network devices to be connected to a network; a state detection part for detecting a state of the network connection apparatus or a state of its surrounding environment; a profile management part for managing profiles including information necessary for forming connection to the network; a profile selection part for selecting any one of the profiles in accordance with the state of the network connection apparatus or the state of its surrounding environment; a network setting part for performing network setting corresponding to the selected profile; and a network connection part for controlling the network device based on the set network setting and connecting the network device to the network.
