<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation apparatus that is unlikely to be affected by a water level change, can be installed easily and can also be miniaturized, and achieves stable power generation, and to provide a power generation method. <P>SOLUTION: The power generation apparatus includes a water turbine which includes a floating function sealed with a cylindrical body and has a number of blades around the body. The power generation apparatus further includes, inside of the water turbine with the blades: an arm to which the water turbine is attached and which has a fixed length and is supported so as to be freely oscillated around a supporting point; a transmission means which is connected from a revolving shaft of the water turbine via a chain or the like and which transmits power while increasing the rotation; a generator which is mounted at the side opposite to the water turbine, with respect to the supporting point of the arm; and a weights which are provided so as to be freely increased/decreased at a position closer to the generator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
