<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide an intake air cooling apparatus of water cooling type for an internal combustion engine, in which water leakage can be detected. <P>SOLUTION: A water cooling type cooling apparatus 10 for cooling intake air of a vehicular internal combustion engine includes: a first heat exchanger 11 which performs heat exchange between cooling water and intake air; a second heat exchanger 12 for performing heat exchange between the cooling water and ambient air; a reserve tank 13 for storing the cooling water; and an electric pump 14 for circulating the cooling water, wherein the water cooling type cooling apparatus 10 forms a circulation circuit for cooling water. The cooling apparatus 10 further includes an electronic control unit 17, the electric pump 14 includes a function for detecting its own number of revolutions and outputting it as an electronic signal. On the basis of the number of revolutions output from the electric pump 14, the electronic control unit 17 determines the presence of water leakage in the circulation circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
