<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector that is high in detection accuracy and compact in size. <P>SOLUTION: A first magnet 21 and a second magnet 22 are provided on a stroke part 61 moving linearly in a stroke direction. The first magnet 21 and the second magnet 22 are magnetized in the same direction in a direction orthogonal to the stroke direction, and are provided so as to be separated from each other in the stroke direction.
