摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a negative electrode active material composed of silicon particles as an active material effective for a negative electrode of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristics and having a reduced volume change in charge/discharge while maintaining a high initial efficiency of silicon and battery capacity. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a negative electrode active material for a secondary battery using a nonaqueous electrolyte comprises the steps of: depositing silicon on a substrate whose temperature is controlled at 800-1100&deg;C at a deposition rate exceeding 1 kg/hr and in a deposition film thickness range of 2-30 mm by an electron beam deposition method which uses metal silicon as a material; and obtaining the negative electrode active material by pulverizing and classifying the deposited silicon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
