<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of inhibiting wind from entering through its exhaust port and preventing supply water from being frozen. <P>SOLUTION: In the exhaust port 16, a hollow lead-out cylindrical part 17 is provided with its front end closed. On a side surface of the lead-out cylindrical part 17, side surface openings 20 are provided which open in a direction orthogonal to an axis of the lead-out cylindrical part 17. In addition, side surface covering parts 18 are provided which protrude in the direction orthogonal to the axis of the lead-out cylindrical part 17 from the side surface of the lead-out cylindrical part 17 so as to cover the side surface openings 20 with gaps therein. Each side surface covering part 18 includes a front opening part 23 formed on a front side thereof and a rear opening part 24 formed on a rear side thereof opposite to the front opening part 23.
