<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell having a large area for receiving solar light and having a high absorption rate of solar light, and to provide a method for manufacturing the solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: The solar cell includes a back electrode, a silicon substrate, a doped silicon layer, and a front electrode. The silicon substrate includes a first surface and a second surface opposed to the first surface, a plurality of three-dimensional nanostructures are formed on the second surface of the silicon substrate, and the back electrode is formed on the first surface of the silicon substrate and is ohmic contact with the first surface.
