<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor of a permanent magnet rotary electric machine that, while supporting permanent magnets reliably, prevents magnetic flux leakage, is inexpensive, and has excellent properties, and to provide a permanent magnet rotary electric machine. <P>SOLUTION: A rotor 1 comprises: a rotor core 3 that has a plurality of laminated magnetic steel sheets 30; and a plurality of permanent magnets 5 that are embedded in a plurality of respective magnet insertion holes 32 that are bored through the rotor core 3 in an axial direction of a rotation shaft. At least one of the magnetic steel sheets 30 comprises a communicating portion 321 that allows each magnet insertion hole 32 to communicate with an outer edge 31. An end plate 2 is disposed at each of two ends of the rotor core 3 along the axial direction of the rotating shaft. Each end plate 2 has magnet support portions 21 that are erected on a side thereof facing the magnetic steel sheets 30 and that are each inserted into a side, closer to the outer edge 31 than each permanent magnet 5, of at least one of each communicating portion 321 and each magnet insertion hole 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
