<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing propylene oxide, in which a volume of a tubular reactor suitable for carrying out an exothermic reaction is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing propylene oxide includes reacting propylene with molecular oxygen in the presence of a metal catalyst, in which a gas mixture of propylene and oxygen is made to pass through a reaction zone containing catalyst particles, while heat is eliminated from the reaction zone by a cooling medium that flows in the reaction zone through a single or more helical articles each having one or more helical portions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
