<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing having flanges formed in an annular inner or outer ring, while achieving smaller start torque. <P>SOLUTION: The tapered roller bearing 10 has flanges 5 formed in the inner ring 1. In the flanges 5, the flange faces 5a in slide contact with end faces of the rollers 3 are shot-blasted so that a cover ratio of the shot surfaces is 90% or more. The shot surfaces have roughness Ra of 0.05 to 0.3 μmRa and satisfy 0.8≤Ra, perpendicular/Ra, parallel≤1.2, where the roughness parallel to a sliding direction and the roughness perpendicular to the direction are denoted by Ra, parallel and Ra, perpendicular, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
