<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking support device capable of detecting abnormality of a gait of a user. <P>SOLUTION: The walking support device 1 related to one embodiment is a walking support device mounted to a thigh part of the user for supporting walking of the user and includes a detection unit 7 for detecting a walking state of the user and a gait determination unit 93 for determining whether or not the gait of the user is normal based on an idling leg operation time and an idling leg finish prediction time calculated based on a detection result of the detection unit 7.
