<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching regulator capable of improving power conversion efficiency, and stabilizing a load current by setting the load current in the timing of switching control methods between PWM control and PFM control to a desired value to suppress variation, even if an input voltage, an output voltage, and load conditions significantly fluctuate. <P>SOLUTION: A pulse skip reference voltage generating circuit 4 generates a prescribed pulse skip reference voltage Vrefm on the basis of the set values of the input voltage Vin and the output voltage Vout. A skip comparator 7 compares an error voltage errout with the pulse skip reference voltage Vrefm, and outputs a pulse skip detection signal skpout which indicates the comparison result. A switching control circuit 10 detects the pulse skip detection signal skpout in the rise timing of a clock signal clkout, and performs PFM control action or PWM control action according to the detection result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
