<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and low cost drive circuit incorporated type active matrix display device having high operating margin, high reliability, and a narrow frame. <P>SOLUTION: As shown in Fig.14[2], it is realized that a gate line drive circuit 12 does not face a counter electrode 21. Therefore, electric influence in a region where the counter electrode 21 and a sealing material 11 overlap each other does not affect at least the gate line drive circuit 12.
