<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor and a coil component for the reactor which are excellent in heat radiation performance. <P>SOLUTION: A reactor 1A comprises: a cylindrical coil 2; a magnetic core 3 which is disposed inside and outside the cylindrical coil 2 and forms a closed magnetic path; and a case 4A housing the cylindrical coil 2 and the magnetic core 3. At least a part of the magnetic core 3 (an outer core part 32 provided at the outer peripheral side of the coil 2) is formed by a composite material including magnetic material powder and a resin. At least a part of an outer periphery of the coil 2 is covered by a resin mold part 21 composed of an insulation resin, and the shape of the coil 2 is maintained. A heat radiation base part 5A forming at least a part of the case 4A and composed of a nonmagnetic metal material is integrally held with the coil 2 by the resin forming the resin mold part 21. The heat radiation base part 5A allows the coil 2 to be stably disposed in the case 4A, and heat of the coil 2 is efficiently transmitted to an installation object.
