<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an image forming method for forming, on a sheet, an image read by a document reading part capable of both-side reading, the device and method which enable a user to easily obtain a clean output result even if an image reading position of the document reading part is contaminated. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device 1 for forming an image, on a sheet, of an image read from a document includes: a document reading part 4 for reading images on a front face and a back face of the document; a contamination detection part 10b for detecting whether an image reading position on a back face of the document reading part 4 is contaminated; and an information output part 10c for, when the document is single-sided, an image of the back face the single-sided document is read by the document reading part 4, and the image reading position on the back face of the document reading part 4 is contaminated, outputting notification information for notifying at least that a placement mode of the single-sided document is incorrect and that the image reading position is contaminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
