PURPOSE: A communication system using a home gateway and an operation method thereof are provided to enable a user of a specific home gateway to perform communication by using a home gateway of other users. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(1210) transmits and receives signals. A control unit(1200) controls the communication unit in order to transmit a service request signal to neighbor nodes through a home gateway. The control unit controls the communication unit in order to receive information for the home gateway of one or more other users from the neighbor node. The control unit controls the communication unit to transmit and receive the signal with the home gateway of one or more other users.
