This imaging device is provided with the following: a light-source unit that can emit first and second illuminating light beams that illuminate a subject, said first and second illuminating light beams having different illumination intensities; a sensor unit, wherein a plurality of pixels that each generate an electrical signal by receiving light and performing photoelectric conversion are arranged on a secondary surface, that reads out pixel information consisting of the electrical signals generated by desired pixels set from among the plurality of pixels; an imaging control unit that controls the reading of the pixel information on the part of the sensor unit; and a light-source control unit that controls the light-source unit so as to emit either the first or the second illuminating light beam for each frame, i.e. period over which the sensor unit reads out one image's worth of pixel information. |
