<p>A conveyor roller assembly (25) for supporting a conveyor belt, the conveyor roller assembly comprising a base (61), a plurality of idler rollers (50), and a support assembly (63) for mounting the idler rollers on the base. The support assembly (63) is adapted for installation onto and removal from the base (61) from at least one side of the conveyor belt. With this arrangement, the support assembly (63) and the accompanying idler roller (50) may be installed onto, and removed from, the base (61) from a location alongside the conveyer belt and without requiring access to the area beneath the conveyor belt. The support assembly (63) is selectively movable between first and second conditions, wherein in the first condition the idler rollers (50) are in an elevated position to offer support for the underside of the conveyor belt and wherein in the second condition the idler rollers are in a lowered position to facilitate sliding movement of the support assembly with respect to the base.</p> |
