PURPOSE: A food waste receiving container is provided to prevent food waste from being spattered to surroundings in the discharging of the food waste by controlling the opening and closing speed of a cover part of a food waste receiving container. CONSTITUTION: A food waste receiving container comprises a receiving body(110), a cover part(120), and a speed control unit. The receiving body forms a receiving space to receive food waste. One end of the cover part is hinge-coupled to the receiving body in order to open and close the upper part of the receiving body. The speed control unit is formed on the rear side of the receiving body. The speed control unit is connected to the cover part in order to control the opening and closing speed of the cover part.
