PURPOSE: A damping mechanism, a medium processing apparatus and a banking machine are provided to easily open and close the medium processing apparatus by a user and to prevent damage to the medium processing module in opening and closing a medium processing module. CONSTITUTION: A main body(10) includes an installation unit(16) in which a medium processing module(20) is installed. The medium processing module is rotatably installed to the installation unit by a rotary shaft(210). A rotary auxiliary unit and a damping unit(40) are connected to the medium processing module. The damping unit provides a damping force in a process of closing the medium processing module. The damping unit includes a cylinder(410) and a piston rod(420). The cylinder is rotatably connected to the installation unit and is rotatably connected to a link(220) rotatably connected to the medium processing module.
