<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility that a job of a user is present when executing shutdown of an image forming apparatus, and to allow the shutdown to be performed at the scheduled time and a power OFF state to be maintained for a specified period as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 102, control is executed so as to shut down the image forming apparatus 102 by a shutdown request part 407 at the shutdown execution time included in schedule information preset and managed by a schedule management part 404.
